Amit's statement - where has it gone?

I have just unpublished Amit Patel's statement upon his request - I know many of you have come to my blog today searching for it and I know you wanna read his side of the story. Amit would love to share his side of the story with you but as there is currently a legal case going on, lawyers on both sides have advised both parties that all this online interaction should stop. This includes the way Jerard Lee has been going on, making threats and accusations on the forums and even a statement like the one released by Amit via my blog was deemed 'premature' by the lawyers. That was why it had to be taken down. This legal action should (hopefully) be fairly swift, you can expect a public statement from Jerard to the media soon (yes you've heard it first here on LIFT - akan datang). Don't expect anything juicy or exciting, it will probably be a carefully crafted statement verified and accepted by lawyers of both parties rather than one of his saucy Singlish remarks we are so used to on the forums. Like dude, what did you expect? Timetric is an MNC who can afford the best lawyers your money can buy in Singapore, duh. You think your buddies from EDMW are going to contribute $100 each so you can hire the best lawyer in Singapore? Have you received even a dollar from them to help with the legal bills? Like I have said over and over again, talk is cheap - show me the money.

Again, this has nothing to do with the quality of the justice system in Singapore which is excellent - but ask yourself this. Jerard Lee brings a case against a big company like Timetric, what do you think they're going to do? Are they going to do nothing? Or are they going to call up their lawyers and defend their case? All I am saying is that such a case costs money and Jerard is currently unemployed - unless he is prepared to defend himself in court (he is not a trained lawyer) and he has made it clear that he has indeed engaged the services of a lawyer. Now unless this lawyer is a personal friend doing Jerard a favour, this lawyer is going to want paying and lawyers don't come cheap.
You want a court case, you got a court case.

As for the dreamer/fantasist/goondu who wrote, The MAIN takeaway from this SAGA is that we witnessed the brave EDMW camaraderie, together shouting for WANBAO etc to pick up the story, CSI-ing AMIT PATEL's info online. Really is true blue singaporeans..

This will teach those FT boss a lesson and keep them on their toes
Show them that EDMWERS are not fun to bully, if they do...

Well.... they better be prepared to face the music

Allow Limpeh give you a few facts to takeaway for you Singaporeans on that forum.
What is the point of all these forums?

1. Talk is cheap. Jerard has a serious and expensive legal case on his hands now and you guys don't get it do you? All this stupid CSI, publishing Amit's Linkedin profile online - it's information that is ALREADY in the public domain, if it contained anything that is confidential then Amit wouldn't have put it up online to begin with. All that matters now is the outcome of this court case and none of this silly bullshit you do on your forums isn't going to influence the legal case in the slightest. Get real, wake up and smell the coffee and grow up.

And someone found my skiing photos and reposted them on the forum - duh, dude. I was showing off how fabulous my holidays were by putting my holiday photos on the web and if you want to help me show off my skiing photos, please, go to all my holiday photo links here and share share share. I love blogging about travel! When was the last time you sad losers had a nice holiday somewhere exotic and beautiful, are you jealous already?
Limpeh in Iceland - I blog a lot about my travels.

Limpeh in Sri Lanka, soaked by the rain!

Please, kindly take my holiday photos (yes you will even get pictures of me on a beach in Spain)  from the links provided above and share share share! Who knows, it might encourage some of you Singaporeans to travel a bit more and explore this beautiful planet of ours. Bon voyage, buen viaje!

2. The Wanbao editor who allowed the story to be published could face disciplinary action pending the outcome of this case as this is libel we're talking about and Wanbao has published a story without first checking the facts with Timetric. Timetric have pulled their punches with Wanbao because of the Streisand effect - watch this space, should Timetric ever change their mind and sue Wanbao.
3. The FT bosses don't give a shit about people like you who have nothing to do but to kao beh kao bu online, bitching about FTs - these FT bosses don't need to hire you and when they find that they have hired someone like Jerard, look what happened. By your own admission, FT bosses are notorious for getting rid of Singaporean locals and filling their work force with people from their own country - if your kao beh kao bu has done any good at all, there won't be so many FTs in Singapore in the first place. You're powerless in your own country, you're a second class citizen in your own country and here comes the best part: you guys voted for this. Oh yeah, you chose this fate.

You know what the problem is?  60.14% of you voted for the PAP. Yes you did at the last elections and now you are paying the price of the mistakes of the 60.14% who voted the PAP. Yes you guys voted for this and if you want to blame anyone, blame the 60.14% around you. Even by 2016, even if you did kick the PAP out then, it's too late as the FTs are already here to stay. What can I say, you're screwed and you have no one to blame but the 60.14% who voted wrongly at the last elections. Don't like FTs? Don't like PRCs? Then why did you vote for the PAP? Duh. I hope you enjoy sharing Singapore with 6.9 million people, mostly PRCs, bwahahahahaha.
4. The only person facing the music now is Jerard lah - get your facts right. You EDMW forum people better dig deep into your pockets and share your pocket money with him now - he is facing a huge legal bill, he is jobless and he has a family to feed. Don't forget, he has a 1 year old baby daughter. Talk is cheap - you really want to help him, do this. Track him down, find him and bring him some food or money. Show me the money - rather, show Jerard your money. If only you guys had any idea what kind of legal bills he is facing now, tsk tsk.

So my readers, whilst this case is still not concluded (give the lawyers some time please), yeah we can talk about it as much as we want but Amit and Jerard (and anyone else directly involved like Ruben and Timetric) will not be making any public statements and the lawyers have requested that those statements already out there be taken down for now. Ouch - it drove a HUGE amount of traffic to my blog in the few hours it was up - but I have been in the corporate world long enough to know why such a statement has been deemed premature and Amit promises me that once this thing blows over, he will be the first to tell me that I can republish it as he does want to share his side of the story. After all, in a dispute like that, you know there are two sides to the story, if you are at all interested in the case, wouldn't you want to hear what Amit's side of the story is?
Don't you want to know both sides of this story?

In the meantime, allow me to quote two comment left by one of my readers in the last few hours.

Sathya Kumar has left a new comment on your post "The curious case of Jerard Lee vs VRL Singapore Ti...":

Looks like Jerard bailed out.
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/eat-drink-man-woman-16/thread-i-have-been-bullied-ft-gone-4195680-2.html

This is what he wrote in his own words.
"Lose Liao this case. And another sinkie life destroyed.

The purpose of my thread was not to for promote xenophobic Singaporeans but mainly how to deal with workplace bullying because in Singapore, there is nothing much we can do about it. That's the sad truth"
Oh Jerard, where do I even begin with you?

MSV has left a new comment on your post "Part 4: A local journalist's POV on the Timetric v...":

This case reminds me of another case. http://guanyinmiao.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/jobless-for-months-despite-mba.png

Job-seekers should not blame others for their own shortcomings. Such actions will never help to improve their situation.
As usual, don't be shy, leave a comment below and let me know what you think.
