Hello all, just a quick post to send you festive greetings from London - gong xi fa cai! It's about 2 degrees out there right now and pouring with heavy rain + sleet - so it's miserable and cold. (It's meant to snow tonight.) I had thought about going to Chinatown to try to soak up the atmosphere for Chinese New Year and had naively thought, I'd wait for the rain to stop. Then at like 5 pm, I realized, it's not going to stop is it - I went out with my umbrella and thankfully I wore my glasses as I nearly had my eye poked out by someone else's umbrella! Had it not been for my glasses, I might only have one eye left now. The woman who was responsible for that didn't even realized what she had done as it was so crowded and windy then!

Umbrella in Chinatown today! |
I stayed there for about 10 minutes before realizing, this is madness - it's cold and wet, it's crowded and I'm trying to push my way through these streets with an umbrella in the pouring rain. So I did get some sushi from Yoshino's before heading to the supermarket to get some fish for my New Year's Dinner which will be sushi with Yu Sheng. Yup, the only Singaporean-Malaysian shop in London Chinatown "Wonderful Patisserie" run by a couple (the wife is from Singapore, the husband is from KL) now stocks boxes of DIY Yu Sheng boxes and I was so excited by the sight of it I got two! At £13.88 it's a bit pricey, but it's not something I've had in ages! Gong xi fa cai to all my readers :)
