Imagine if Pi and Richard Parker turned up at Singapore...

I watched the amazing film Life of Pi today - I left the cinema feeling decidedly seasick but it was a beautiful film that made me cry many times. Do go see it, but ask yourself: what if Pi and Richard Parker turned up in Singapore? Yup, they'd be turned away... there will be no poignant scene of Richard Parker disappearing into the jungle and the locals carrying a crying Pi away to the hospital. That's Singapore for you. You're shipwrecked? Screw you. Just as well Pi drifted to Mexico and not Singapore.
