I've been busy podcasting, have you missed me?

Hello again everyone. I have been busy podcasting and so far, I've uploaded eight podcasts - some longer than others. You can either listen to it directly on the website here, just click on the episode and press the play button; or you can listen on your phones via the Podbean app. The fact is I do drafts of my podcasts here but I've not published any of those drafts so far as they're messy bullet points rather than the usual well presented pieces here of a quality that would give you a nice reading experience - are you guys interested? Would you like me to publish my drafts as well here? Would you prefer to read or to listen to what is essentially the same story? Let me know please and happy new year everyone.

  1. Hi Alex, have you considered uploading the podcasts to Youtube and Spotify instead? Those two seem to have a wider reach and more easily accessible. It's also easy to set them up.

    1. Hi there, I'm going to do that in due course if and only if my podcast takes off - I am measuring it in terms of the number of people who have listened to each episode and comparing it to my blog. When it gets even to half the attention I get on my blog, then yeah I'll say, let's go big and put it on every single platform available. I remember how terrible my blog figures were in the early days when I barely got a handful of people reading it on a daily basis and fast forward to today, I can look up at the stats and see people still reading something I posted way back in 2014 because it contained useful information that people are still searching for. The fact is the podcast has got to be good - I have to be a good podcaster for it to take off and right now, looking at the figures, sorry to be blunt, it has not taken off yet and with a product that just isn't good enough, I'll need to work on it before I put it on more platforms. Cos if I put a poor quality podcast on many platforms, it still won't take off in a way that I'd like, I need to focus on building the product for now and the stats are a blunt, honest feedback.

    2. I have reached the end of the line with Podbean - they have limited free storage and now want $$$ from me to start uploading my next episode. But y'know what, I'm gonna start all over again on Spotify instead and possibly Youtube as I think it's a learning curve. I have just about hit 150 downloads after 13 episodes and I have had some good feedback for one episode, so I know which direction to take the podcast but it's going to be a question of whether to import the existing podcast and grow it, or do I say, those numbers are pathetic, it was a training exercise, let's start from scratch on Spotify now I know what I am doing. We'll see, but I will definitely be moving to Spotify now.

  2. I don't mind reading about it on your blog. Maybe you can post a blog with a podcast link below, just until the podcast listeners pick up.
