Hi guys, remember I told you that I was launching my podcast? Well here it is at last, I've only recorded three episodes so far but I expect to do a lot more over the Christmas period. You don't need to register on the website or download the app to listen to my podcast episodes, simply click on the episode you want to listen to and play it. There's a lot more I'd like to do with it but work has been busy. Heck, it's Friday the 20th December, the last working day of the year and I've yet to put down my tools. I would really appreciate it if you would have a listen and let me know what you think, if there are any more topics that you think I can cover better in a podcast. Many thanks as always and happy holidays everyone!
I've completed all the episodes. Will you be interviewing anyone or would this just be like an audio version of your blog moving forward?
ReplyDeleteIt will undoubtedly have to be different from my blog because of the performance aspect of a podcast, nobody wants to hear me read off a script in a dead pan voice - it will also have to be shorter as well as we're dealing with shorter attention spans here so I am still trying to figure out a lot of things for the format. I have my biopsy on the 27th Dec then I am off to France for a week on the 1st Jan, so I am still hoping to find the time over the Christmas break to do at least two episodes.
DeleteHuge congrats on the launch of your new podcast! Admittedly, I'm still halfway through, but keep them coming. Somehow your podcast style reminds me of PJ Thum's (perhaps both are UK scholars with Singapore background). The current format is akin to listening to a radio DJ, but having guests or podcast partner leans into a new dimension. It does take alot effort as of any solo acts. The sound quality is also commendable. Always a pleasure and fan of your work. All the best!
ReplyDeleteI have to check out PJ Thum's podcast as that's a new one for me. For my shorter podcasts, they were scripted and more 'performed' whereas for my longer podcasts, I work with a series of bullet points and then I simply work off the bullet point as you can't script a much longer piece - it feels more natural as it would include me stumbling over words and repeating a sentence, I'm not striving for perfection there as long as I can tell a story. I'm glad the sound quality is okay because it's just me at my dining table on my phone, nothing fancy.
DeleteOh and stupid me, I forgot to say a big thank you for your support.
