Which is the easiest language to learn?

Hi everyone. As a polyglot, I have been asked many times, "which is the easiest language to learn?" You know, it's a really hard question to answer as I found French and Spanish very easy but have met people who found French impossibly hard. So in this video, I am going to talk about five vital factors which determine just how hard a language will be for you to learn with some interesting examples. So, enjoy this video and many thanks for reading & watching!

  1. Japanese is more difficult to learn than Korean mainly due to reading and writing of the kanji or traditional Chinese characters. But then again i spend some 10 years on and off learning it so unless you have that sort of commitment don't even try to start. Getting to fluent everyday operational level takes a JLPT level 2 pass minimum. That in itself is a huge gulf to bridge mainly due to the listening component.

    1. I think an important factor is being able to find people you can practice your language skills with - I have plenty of people to speak most European languages with at my gym (which is so international) and yes there are two Japanese speakers there as well. I have friends who have learnt Mandarin for years but struggle to even have basic conversations because they just don't practice it enough outside the classroom scenario where the teacher speaks slowly and clearly.
