Fogok dolgozni Magyarországon, Budapest here I come!

Hello guys, jo napot kivanok. You know the saying, as one door closes, another one opens. In a recent post, I've told you how I have decided to stop coaching gymnastics in order to free myself up for new challenges in my life. Well, guess what? I got the confirmation this morning that I am going to work in Hungary - it is a short contract, I'll be in Budapest to shoot a commercial for a British financial services company. This is such a perfect project for me as I left banking for the world of media. They were meant to have confirmed this last Thursday but it dragged on till today. It is a ludicrously lucrative contract. It means I don't have to worry about money for the next 6 months or so. I'm going to America later in the summer and was worried about spending too much money, well, I'm no longer worried! After what has been a stressful and at times emotional period in my life, it is so wonderful to get some good news. I've been to Hungary before ten years ago and one of my best friends Mel is from Hungary, so I've already called her up and told her the good news in my bad Hungarian and we were screaming and cheering for a long time. Oh I missed being so happy. I am fucking overjoyed right now. This feels amazing. More details later. Thanks for reading, köszönöm szépen!
That's me in Budapest 10 years ago

    1. I just checked the weather forecast - yikes, too bloody hot. For an outdoor shoot. Not looking forward to the weather there. Hungary is too hot in the summer.

  4. Hi Alex, I am filled with envy. Budapest is really my all time fave European capital city. Despite the heat, just remember that nobody gets hungry in Hungary or Magyarorszag :)

Go easy though on the Egri Bikaver and Tokaj Aszu and those pastries from Gerbeaud or Művész - they are beautifully innocent looking but are very efficient in transferring the weight from your money belt to the waist. Not that I am complaining though lol. Off to the Baltics in September though, so got to watch it as well.

    1. Hi Shane, Limpeh go there to work, not holiday leh. I have two half days free. Basically, I arrive and am free. Then work non-stop, then on the last day, I am free till it is time to go to the airport. But I am not fussed about the sightseeing as I did it all - I was there in 2006 when my friend was working there and effectively had an English-speaking local guide there. My hotel is very central and has good reviews on Tripadvisor, so for me, it's more the fascination of working with a very international team. So far, apart from Brits, there are Americans, Irish, German, Polish and Hungarian people there + Limpeh of course. I have been working hard on my Hungarian and hope to make some local friends with the crew there.

      Baltics eh? All 3?

    2. My first trip to Hungary was in 2003 and I think I have returned at least an additional 5 times :). That's how much I like the place.

But not this autumn, no Budapest, Pecs or Szeged. Just going through all the 3 Baltic states with my partner in tow.
