I have hit 10,000 comments on my blog!

Hello everyone! I have crossed the 10,000 comments mark on my blog - it currently stands at 10,011 comments. Thank you so much for this my readers, ten thousand comments is a big milestone for me because it demonstrates the kind of conversation that I have with my readers on my blog. I love the way I can have a conversation with my readers after they have read my pieces and okay, sometimes they don't agree with me and some readers even leave rude comments (and I have some who come here looking for an argument), but I prefer that to writing an article that barely gets anyone reading. I'd rather provoke a reaction than to be ignored when I have something to say.
Let me know what you think!

It is still rather hit and miss in terms of my traffic. Sometimes I can write a heartfelt piece on a topic that means a lot to me and it just doesn't get many hits - sometimes I can rush out a piece in a hurry and boom, it goes viral instantly in a way that made me think, damn if this many people were going to read that piece, I would have spent a bit more time crafting it rather than rushing it out.  But such is the nature of blogging I suppose, you never quite know what you when you will write something that will go viral and as long as you maintain a core group of readers, then it is good to know that at least somebody will read your posts even if it is not about a major topical story that is in the headlines.

A sign of a blog post being popular is when I can generate a lot of comments - a good post can generate over 100 comments whilst most of my posts generate at least a few and I would be disappointed if a post generated no comments at all. I always try my best to reply to all comments, even if I don't really have anything to add to what was said, I would at least try to acknowledge it by saying something like, "thanks for your thoughtful comment." I love it when my readers start having conversations amongst themselves and we have an interesting discussion involving a few people with quite different perspectives. I have also made some very good friends through my blog and this makes it a far more interesting experience than say, simply writing a diary. I currently have 6.87 million page views on my blog and it is just amazing that so many people have read my writing. Thank you so much for making blogging such an amazing experience for me. I am very grateful your support and I hope you enjoy a glimpse into my crazy world.
