Happy Birthday to me - yes Limpeh turned 38 today

Hi guys, I just wanted to share with you a hilarious photo from today - it's from the rehearsals I'm doing at the moment for a kungfu fighting themed commercial. Here is one of the costumes I tried on this afternoon and I'm having a good laugh. That's me with long hair, check it out. How about that eh? I've spent my 38th birthday rehearsing for a project I am really excited to be doing and I am still amazed that an old man like me can still get paid work as a stuntman - trust me, at 38, I am a great-grandfather in the stunt work world. I am very lucky to be paid to do something I truly enjoy. I hope to remain fit and healthy and continue using my physical dexterity to get more stunt work in the coming years.
Yes it is a Kung Fu Ancient China Wuxia themed ad!

  1. Yes, hilarious! The pose and the hair! Good for you! BTW, that role you missed out on in House of Cards --- there was a sex scene involving a plastic bag. Awkward!

    1. Di, I am a glass half full kinda guy - I just feel honoured to have been even considered for the role and able to audition for it given how huge that series is. :)

    1. Thanks. You should see the bruises i have picked up in the last 24 hours from the wirework harness. Ouch. Kungfu fighting for film (with wirework) is hard work.

  4. I don't believe in birthdays since it doesn't take effort to age. But have a great 39th year.

  6. Happy Birthday to you, Alex, from South Korea(where I am now on holiday with family)! Age is only a number, so keep on doing what you do best. That is the best way to be happy and fulfilled in life.

  7. Hi LIFT, just read this interesting article. So it seems that child spanking or abuse really doesn't help and it now has a scientific basis:

    1. Jacky, your information is out of date. I worked in finance - note: PAST TENSE. I saw the light when I was 28 and thought, what the hell am I doing, working myself to an early death? I got out of the rat race and am now balancing a freelance role in finance as a marketing consultant whilst pursuing the things I enjoy, such as doing stuntwork. I am about to write another post on stuntwork.

Oh fuck working in a bank. I have no desire to get back in the corporate world and work myself to an early death.
