LIFT Vlog Episode 9: Oman Summer 2013
OK here we go, episode 9 - slightly different. Let's turn the spotlight on Oman, here are some of my travel videos from my latest trip there. As you can tell from the videos, yes I did enjoy Oman! It was great! I hope you will enjoy it! I simply have to post the photos I took in Oman as well on my blog, that will come soon, akan datang!
Qatar is very near Oman indeed. They will have to be mad to try to do anything when the daytime temperatures can reach 50 degrees. There's hot (like Singapore) and stupidly, crazily hot (like 50 degrees). There are some solutions:
1. Air-con the entire stadium, they're rich, they can afford it. 2. Host the matches at late night/v early morning when it is more like 35 degrees and not 50 degrees. That would be good for live broadcast to other parts of the world.
Otherwise, you saw just how HOT I was simply walking around Nakahl Fort when it was 40-something degrees. The temperature made simple tasks unbearable and difficult. Like, I was just walking - and I was ready to collapse man.
Add to that other controversies (no alcohol, draconian anti-gay laws, women must cover up etc) ... I am not convinced it can work, but let's get over the 50 degree weather first.
What are your thoughts of the World Cup 2022 being held in Qatar (quite nearby) during the summer months. You think its doable?
