საქართველოში იანვარში მივდივარ! Georgia, January 2019

Hi guys, gamarjoba! I haven't even finished leaving all my Tripadvisor reviews for the stuff I did in Malta and I've already booked my next trip - I'm going to Georgia in January for 10 days. I'll be there from the 10th to the 20th January and I am so excited. I knew that Wizzair do a reasonably priced ticket from London Luton to Kutaisi and I've been dying to go to Georgia since I watched the 2018 season of the Dutch reality TV programme Wie Is De Mol which was mostly set in Georgia. I was so disappointed in Malta because everyone spoke English flawlessly (well, it is a former British colony) but Georgia is going to be very challenging from a linguistic point of view. The Georgian language is effectively a language isolate and it even has its own script (which looks like an Indian language - see the title of this post) but as it is part of the former USSR, many of the older generation speak Russian fluently whilst English has become the default second/foreign language taught at all schools these days. I think I will be going to Kutaisi, Batumi, Tblisi, Borjomi and Bakuriani - though all I have booked so far are the flights and I have yet plan anything else. I could have made the trip even longer - like extend it to Armenia or Azerbaijan, but I'll stick to 10 days in Georgia for now. Clearly, I won't have time to see everything so it's once again a question of careful planning to decide what to do and see there. I realized that every pound I earn will be taxed at 45% between now and the 5th April, so I'm not really motivated to work much, hence this amazing holiday. So, another epic adventure to look forward to and what a way to start the new year! Didi madloba!
