Holy crap, not again? Terrorism strikes London again.
I'm fine - as soon as the news of the terrorist attack at London Bridge broke, I had quite a few of my readers as if I am okay. Yes, I am fine, I was nowhere near London Bridge this evening. I had gone diving earlier as it was warm and sunny, I spent the evening at home blogging and watching TV. We still don't know what is going on yet - there are still reports of the police trying to contain the situation, we'll have to wait a few hours before we know what happened. This came just a few days after the Manchester bombing and it is quite disconcerting to say the least. I will write more about this when the facts become clear in the coming 24 hours or so. For now, many thanks for your kind wishes everyone.
Hope this war (that's what it is) ends before my next trip to Europe. I want to move around free and easy and not have my bag checked all the time.
ReplyDeleteThings are not going to 'get back to normal' in a long time - not for many years at least, I can imagine far tighter screening at airports in light of heightened security would be here to stay for a long time to come.
DeleteGlad to hear you are ok
ReplyDeleteSorry people, I can't bring myself to write the follow up - I started but really didn't want to continue to complete it for 2 reasons.
ReplyDelete1. I've only written a Q&A piece quite recently and don't have any new insight.
2. It's fucking depressing I'm afraid,
Sorry. I'll leave it for now.
Alex, why not a change of pace? Alot of doom and gloom recently, so why not tell us a bit
Deletemore abour ur travels in France and how fucking awesome France is?
Yes, too much doom and gloom - one almost feels the need to be upbeat and cheery but the frustration stems from knowing it will happen again and not having a solution to the problem.
DeleteI'm off to Riga on Friday. Latvian adventures coming up.
