Escaping the haze: 5 haze-free budget destinations

Hi again everyone. My latest piece of travel writing is up on Alvinology: I talked about five haze-free budget destinations for Singaporeans who want to get out of hazy Singapore. I had a look at flights from Singapore on Skyscanner and incredibly there are some really good deals for the month of October. The flights featured in this article range from about S$100 to S$232 so none of them are going to break the bank for a short break as you enjoy the fresh air far, far away from the horrible haze. Heck, if I was still in Singapore, I'd be tempted by some of these cheap flights too - so please book a short break away and let me know how you get on. Many thanks for reading!
Anyone fancy a trip to Taipei?

  1. Hey LIFT

    I will recommend Maldives.

It is a short 4hr ish flight with budget and you can either go budget stay or luxury stay.

For me, I chose both because I want to see the local Maldives and also enjoy the luxury Maldives.

    Ciao!

    1. Hi there. I created this list from Skyscanner, looking for the cheapest escape to haze-free destinations. I saw Maldives on that list but the cheapest flights there would cost S$362 with Tiger and those prices are only available if you fly out on the 7th Oct and you fly back on the 19th Oct. Any other dates and it will cost more. So as you could see, it was a lot more expensive than the 5 destinations I have chosen (with Taipei being the most expensive but still considerably cheaper than Maldives).

My sister went to the Maldives this year and she loved it, she had only wonderful things to say about Maldives.

I think there are 2 kinds of holidays - the kind where you push the boat out and spend a lotta money for the adventure of a life time, maybe you spend more and stay in really nice places. Then there are the long weekends away, when you get a budget flight, you don't spend too much money and you're motivated by the fact that you're getting a bargain. This list is definitely for the latter.

    2. Hi LIFT

Yes indeed. Maldives is a very beautiful place and you must have patience. This is because there is a lot of waiting, whether you have $ or lot of $.

We were lucky to be in Maldives when the PSI was >300.
