Starting 2013 in Belgium! Wow!

Hi all, greetings from Scotland where it has been wet and windy but no snow where I am. It is about 6 degrees in the day and 2 degrees at night, just a touch too warm for snow. I will share some photos soon, but I just wanted to check in with my readers who are probably wondering why I haven't blogged in a few days.

I have some amazing news to share - I am going to be in Belgium from the 6 - 13 January for a TV shoot. It is a 'tweens' TV programme, ie. aimed at the 7 - 14 year old market, squeaky clean, cheesy in a way that can only appeal to 7 - 14 year olds. I will be needed for a half day costume fitting/screen test, then a 3 day shoot spread out over 8 days. This means that I will be able to spend the rest of the time playing tourist whilst being paid for my time there in Belgium (and they're paying for everything such as travel, meals, hotels etc) - how freaking cool is that! French production company, Belgian TV crew, international cast with a script that is mostly in English. Welcome to the wonderful world of TV.
I will be based in Liege, Belgium for a week.

I told my bosses at work about it and they were like, "This is the kind of thing my daughter would love to watch, have fun in Belgium!"  How about that?! I feel very lucky that my boss is so freaking supportive of my acting career, how many MDs in the world of finance would be so cool about their staff off to do some TV in Belgium? And on top of that, the moment I return from Belgium, I start rehearsals for my play at Somerset House.  Oh at times like this, I do wonder if I actually can leave finance and work full time in media? I am technically speaking, fully employed in the world of entertainment/media (TV in Belgium + the play at Somerset House) from January to March 2013.

Happy holidays everyone, sending you festive wishes from Scotland.
